Chiefs add rookie LB to practice squad after Texans move
The Kansas City Chiefs are signing Fisher to their practice squad, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, as they remain unbeaten after winning every game this season. Houston selected Fisher with the 243rd overall pick.

The Texans released Fisher on October 17 after he appeared in three games during the 2026 NFL season and recorded one tackle. He signed with Houston on May 12. His release came as the team adjusted its roster for players returning from injuries.
A separate report on Fisher’s release stated, “The 7th-round pick was an All-American last season en route to helping Indiana win a national championship. He will be on waivers.”
Houston released Fisher and rookie cornerback Collin Wright to make room for linebacker Henry To’oTo’o and safety Ja’Marcus Ingram. Both players were returning from injuries. The Texans later brought Wright back to their practice squad, while Fisher was expected to sign with the Chiefs.
Fisher played college football for the Indiana Hoosiers. During the 2024 season, he recorded 118 tackles and earned first-team All-American recognition from the Football Writers Association of America and Phil Steele. He became the first linebacker in Indiana history to earn first-team All-American honors.
In 2025, Fisher recorded 97 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions and one forced fumble across 15 games. He finished his two seasons at Indiana with 215 tackles in 28 appearances.
Fisher was also a member of Indiana’s title-winning roster. On January 19, 2026, Indiana defeated Miami 27–21 to win the title.
Fisher’s stint with Houston ended when the team activated Henry To’oTo’o and Ja’Marcus Ingram. The Texans could also soon have Tank Dell back as the team continues to make roster adjustments.
Texans WR prepares to return after injury
Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell is expected to return on October 25, 2026, when the team faces the New York Giants. It would be his first game since suffering a serious knee injury.
Dell suffered the injury against the Kansas City Chiefs on December 21, 2024. He damaged his ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus, forcing him to miss the entire 2025 season.
Across his first two NFL seasons, Dell recorded 98 receptions for 1,376 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns before the injury sidelined him.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans discussed Dell’s progress after two weeks of practice. He said: “Tank is doing an outstanding job these past two weeks of practicing. We are all excited and we’ll see Tank out there on Sunday vs. the Giants. We’re excited, it’s time for him to be back. He’s done a great job of working to get himself back. We’re excited to see him.”
The Texans are scheduled to face the Giants on October 25, when Dell is expected to return after missing the 2025 season. Meanwhile, Aiden Fisher is set to join the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad following his release from Houston.
