Oklahoma State makes history in upset win over Oregon

Oklahoma State gave its fans something massive to cheer about on Saturday.
After finishing 1-11 last season and losing to Tulsa last Saturday, Oklahoma State snapped a 12-game losing streak, beating No. 6 Oregon 39-31 in Stillwater.

Oregon came into the game as a 24.5-point favorite, but it didn’t matter. Oklahoma State’s offense and defense outplayed Oregon’s the whole way through.
With this win, Oklahoma State became the first team in FBS history to snap a 10+ game losing streak with a win over an AP top-10 opponent.
Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker had a strong game, throwing for 317 yards through the air and two touchdowns. He also added six carries for 109 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Yes, he did throw two interceptions, but he made a lot of big throws throughout the game.
Running back Caleb Hawkins was also fantastic, finishing with 23 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Oregon had a chance to drive down the field late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t meant to be. Oregon fumbled a regular toss play, and Oklahoma State jumped on the ball.
This is Eric Morris’s first win as Oklahoma State head coach. He took over the program last November after spending three seasons as the head coach at North Texas.
He’ll try to get his second win as Oklahoma State’s head coach when the program hosts Murray State next Saturday.
