The Valkyries' WNBA championship parade on Wednesday spans two cities, includes a boat crossing and will require an intricate web of road closures in downtown San Francisco.

Driving could be a nightmare. But getting there by transit should be easy.

That's the hope of five transit operators who have scrambled to provide extra service, longer trains and specialized maps for fans awaiting the team's grand entrance at noon. A boat docking at the Ferry Building will deliver 15 players - and their entourage - to a massive receiving line, likely spreading along the waterfront to Oracle Park. Revelers can arrive as early as 9 a.m. Just imagine trying to find a parking spot.

BART advises people heading from the East Bay or the Peninsula to park at stations with relatively empty lots, as indicated on a graphic the agency posted to social media. Ride to the Embarcadero or Montgomery Station or catch Muni's central subway from the Union Square Station adjacent to Powell.

Much of the parade logistics have fallen on the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, whose crews will start putting up cones and construction rail at midnight Wednesday, making it difficult to exit the Bay Bridge until late afternoon. Though Muni will adjust some routes to bypass the celebration on Wednesday, five Metro lines will carry revelers to Embarcadero station, and several buses stop near the ferry building.

Notably, SFMTA has asked autonomous vehicle companies to geo-fence, restricting rides in the Financial District, SoMa and South Beach, and refraining from picking up or dropping off passengers on several key streets. Robotaxi operators like Waymo and Zoox would have to comply voluntarily, as they did during the recent Fleet Week celebration.

San Francisco Bay Ferry will run additional boats from Vallejo to downtown San Francisco at 8 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 2:05 p.m, with return trips at 9:05 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Ferries will leave Oakland for San Francisco at 3:30 p.m. and 4:35 p.m., with additional trips back at 3 p.m., 4:05 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. Riders who stand on the deck and visor their eyes might glimpse a purple party vessel in the distance.

Caltrain will run special trains to and from the parade, with the first rolling north from San Jose Diridon Station at 9:13 a.m., and the second coasting south from San Francisco Station at 2:40 p.m. The train stop at 4th and King streets is two blocks from the event's terminus.
