· Yahoo Sports
WWE SmackDown star Finn Balor is nothing short of amazing when he enters the ring. Two-time NXT Champion as well as the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. However, it’s widely known in the professional wrestling world that Balor has another gear if he really needs it, but he only unleashes it in the most dire of situations. On this week’s Danhausen “Very Nice, very Evil” edition of WWE SmackDown, Gunther saw firsthand how dangerous Balor could really be.
The Demon Finn Balor Returns on WWE SmackDown
For months on end, Finn Balor has been looking for an Undisputed WWE Title shot. However, Gunther has gotten in his way, and above all else, has gone too far when it comes to poking the bear, pointing out that Balor isn’t title material, that his lone one-day reign was a fluke, and that it’s a clear indication that he can’t keep up. On Friday, a day before Halloween, Balor would put the “Career-killer” on notice. Earlier in the night, Danhausen would say that he is going to unveil his “most evil experiment yet.”

We thought we saw what it already was, as a Frankenstein’d version of the Gingerbread Man, terrifying Lil Yachty. Danhausen would come out before the main event to show it to the world, but Gunther had other plans. The “Ring General” would Powerbomb Danhausen through a table on the entrance ramp and whip him all the way to the ring. Danhausen would unload a gaggle of MiniHausens, only for Gunther to Powerbomb them through tables, pelt them with full-sized pumpkins, and straight up just brutalize them.

While in the hold, Danhausen would “curse” Gunther, revealing his most evil experiment to be The Demon Finn Balor. The last time we saw The Demon Finn Balor was at WrestleMania 42 this year. Before that, it was WrestleMania 39, as he went through hell and back with Edge in Hell in a Cell. Balor would hit a Shotgun Dropkick on Gunther through a table. Gunther would try to fight back, hitting Balor with his belt, but it did not work.
The Demon would batter Gunther, setting him up on top of the announcer’s table. Balor would scale a ladder and hit a violent Coup de Grace on the Ring General.

It really is time for a showdown most people never wanted to see: The Demon Finn Balor vs. Gunther. Gunther has tried to undermine Balor for months now, and it was inevitable that Balor would go into the deepest, darkest portions of his mind to defeat the former World Heavyweight Champion. Honestly, we love it. The Demon persona has always made Balor feel more threatening, and with this current feud with Gunther, it adds another element of uncertainty about who will come out on top.
