The San Francisco 49ers were able to take down their divisional rival, the Seattle Seahawks, in Week 5, and of course, it came down to the final seconds. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, football is a game of inches, and Cooper Kupp was not able to pick up the first down in order to give his team a chance to either tie or win the game.
As for the 49ers, when they had the ball, they went down the field and handled business, and it was Brock Purdy who led the way. It’s been a solid season for Purdy so far, and he showed his efficiency again when the team needed him the most. His favorite target in the game was Mike Evans, who finished with seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.
David Lombardi of the San Francisco Chronicle made it known on social media that giving Purdy a wide receiver like Evans is a game changer.

“Giving Brock Purdy, who was already the NFL’s best QB, Mike Evans was a cheat code,” Lombardi wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Lombardi didn’t stop there, as he continued to gloat about Purdy’s efficiency when he has a healthy receiver.
“Give Brock Purdy at least one healthy-enough plus-receiver and he will beat the Mike Macdonald Seahawks. That’s what the facts tell us,” Lombardi wrote.
If those are the facts, the 49ers need to make sure that they keep a good receiver around Purdy at all times, because if they can beat the Seahawks, they can almost beat any team in the league with the way they’ve been playing this season.
Everything seems to be working in favor of the 49ers, even though they’re dealing with injuries here and there. That doesn’t look to be a problem for them, and their dominance may continue as the season progresses.
