‘Most disrespectful thing I’ve ever endured’ – Chris Paul opens up on his controversial Clippers exit

Chris Paul is one of the greatest point guards in modern NBA, and he arguably spent the best years of his career with the LA Clippers.
He played seven seasons with the franchise, and made multiple All-Star and All-NBA teams, before moving on with his career following a trade to the Houston Rockets.

After moving around the league, CP3 finally returned for one last dance with the LA Clippers at the start of the 2025-26 season. However, his last season in the league with the team that he had some of the best memories with, did not go as planned.
The team parted ways with Paul in December, sending the legendary PG home and in pursuit of his next team to end his career on a high note.
He then was sent to Toronto as part of a trade, but the Raptors waived him. Post that he wasn’t able to find a team and eventually decided to retire.
After months, Paul has come out and revealed what he actually felt when the Clippers made the decision to part ways with him.
Chris Paul felt disrespected for him and his family
Paul came to the Clippers already as a star player, and joined forces with Blake Griffin to make the team play some of the best brand of basketball.
Griffin and Paul had differences, but on the court, they were the leaders of the ‘Lob City Clippers,’ a team known to play high octane basketball.
Naturally his family grew closer to the team in all those years during his first stint. Which is why when Paul returned and was treated with disrespect by the organization, they were upset.
“What’s interesting about that whole situation is, it’s probably one of the most disrespectful things that I’ve endured,” said Paul on the Build or Break podcast.
“I’ve been through a lot of wild stuff in my career, and having older kids and a wife who’s very tapped in, and they know the daily goings on as far as that team and that organization. Obviously I was upset, but my family, my people, everybody…
““I think just because of the investment we made in the team for as long as we have, and to see the way stuff was handled. What it let’s you know is that no matter what you do or what you’ve done, nobody cares”
The Clippers’ treatment of CP3, angered several big name NBA players, as everyone believes the ‘Point God’ deserved a better send off. Blake Griffin blasted the organization and so did the other top analysts.
Paul is a future Hall-of-Famer, and deserves more respect than the Clippers showed him on his return. The die-hard fans of the Lob City Clippers will be hoping Paul comes back again someday, so that he gets the reception he actually deserves from the Clippers faithful.
