IIM Ranchi Welcomes 6th IPM Cohort with 71% Female Representation

A new chapter of learning, discovery and growth began at IIM Ranchi as the institute welcomed its 6th Batch of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), Batch 2026-31. The cohort of 62 students, with an impressive 71% female representation, embarked on their five-year journey at IIM Ranchi, marked by a vibrant week of induction activities and meaningful interactions.
The induction week featured a wide range of engaging and experiential activities, including Case Competition, Presentations, Business Feud, Marketing Roulette, Jamming Sessions, Human Library, Human Connect, Sports Events, Service Kiosk, Treasure Hunt, Dance Competition, and several other activities. The diverse engagements provided students with opportunities to interact, collaborate, explore their strengths, and develop skills beyond the classroom.

The formal inauguration of the cohort was held on August 10, 2026. Addressing the newly inducted students, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, emphasised the importance of a positive attitude, social intelligence, and taking ownership of one’s choices. Highlighting the human-centric nature of management, he noted that effective systems must be complemented by strong support systems and a human touch.
He encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities at IIM Ranchi and develop a global outlook through the institute’s emphasis on global pedagogy and perspectives. Speaking about the IPM programme’s contribution to the institute, he highlighted its role in building the institute’s legacy, including initiatives such as the Young Changemakers Programme (YCP), and encouraged students to consider how they could contribute to this legacy.
Emphasising the power of smallness, Prof. Srivastava urged students to recognise how small actions and contributions can create meaningful impact within oneself and society. He encouraged them to think about the legacy they wish to create, develop the intelligence and perspective to navigate challenges, and translate their learning into action. He also highlighted Bahumukh Vikaso Gantavya, underscoring the importance of holistic and multidimensional development.
The inaugural session also featured Mr. Nathan S V, Leadership Coach & Mentor; Former Country Leader, PWC Acceleration Centres India, as the Guest Speaker. Sharing insights from his extensive professional journey, Mr. Vaidya encouraged the students to take control of their own lives and find joy in the process of pursuing their aspirations. He emphasised that seemingly small actions can create a significant impact and urged students to remain present in the moment, maintain focus, and make the most of the opportunities that come their way.
He also highlighted the importance of honesty, humility, and a strong commitment to hard work in building authentic leadership. Drawing upon his experiences as a leader and mentor, he encouraged the students to remain lifelong learners, stay open to new experiences, and consciously shape their own journeys.
The inaugural session concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Raveesh Krishnankutty, Chairperson, IPM, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, staff, students, and parents for their presence and contribution to the successful commencement of the new cohort.
With its diverse induction activities and emphasis on leadership, social intelligence, global outlook, and meaningful contribution, the induction of the 6th IPM cohort marks the beginning of an enriching five-year journey at IIM Ranchi.
