Jaxson Dart Caused Dustup at Giants Practice on Tuesday

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart threw the ball at Greg Newsome after scoring a touchdown on Tuesday (8/4), causing a dustup.

Several Giants defenders had words for Dart, who made his new head coach unhappy.
"I think it's a 15-yard penalty for taunting, so we backed up the extra point and had them do it again," John Harbaugh said. "I think he understands that we don't want it for the game-winning extra point, we don't want it to be a 50-yard extra point or so. Do you think I need to say anything in that case? It's pretty clear-cut."
Dart didn't speak to reporters after practice, but new TE Isaiah Likely did.
"Just them competing," Likely said. "I mean, training camp, Day 2 of pads, getting tired, obviously in the red zone points are at stake. I mean, that's the type of dog you want in a quarterback.
"And obviously, Newsome, I've been playing with him for quite a while. I know he's a dog himself. So he's not going to back down on nobody."
Dart finished his rookie season with 2,272 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, five interceptions, 487 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He appears to have a bright future with Matt Nagy and Harbaugh in his corner now.
"One of the many great things about Jaxson Dart is he does so many things so well," Harbaugh said about Dart. "There is a lot of different elements that Jaxson can play in. I'm not sure what he really can't do."
"I was able to watch a decent amount of Jaxson last year, when I was in Kansas City," Nagy said about Dart. "We tried to take as little time as possible watching the quarterback position, but every year I will watch just to see the top guys that are there, and I remember coming away impressed with Jaxson and his accuracy."
In Year 1 of the Harbaugh era, the Giants play the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions.
If Dart can lead the Giants to the playoffs next season, he could be in MVP talks.
The Giants haven't made the playoffs since the 2022 season. That was the first year of the Brian Daboll era.
