“The ultimate football Swiss Army knife is officially moving on. Taysom Hill says his nine-year run in New Orleans is over, and he’s now a free agent per Saints,” tweeted the show Bussin’ with the Boys on X.
“A Swiss Army knife isn’t built for just one job; it adapts, it endures, that is Taysom Hill,” said former Saints quarterback Drew Brees in a video theSaints posted of Hill’s Saints journey on X.
Not only did Hill’s versatility make him a staple of the Saints, but he embraced the city, and the fans embraced him.
As Brees stated so well, “When we needed more, he gave us everything. Because that is what it means to be a Saint in New Orleans. We adapt, we endure. No shortcut, no excuses; all heart and soul.”
Thanks from Saints Nation poured in with Hill’s decision to leave. “Thank you for all the memories my dawg you truly were special and could do it all. Need a catch, need a run, need a throw, need ya oil changed or the ac vent switched it didn’t matter you were the man for the job. Who Dat #saints,” tweeted one influencer.
“If you don’t like Taysom Hill, you don’t like football,”tweeted out writer for the Desert Jackson Payne.
Oneinfluencer on X put it pretty well just how versatile Hill was. “Taysom Hill announces his time in New Orleans is over. What a run he had. And catch. And throw. And anything else you ever wanted out of a football player.”
However, there is another “role” that Hill performed that Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun is a fan of.
“Taysom Hill played many roles for the Saints. My favorite one: Falcons killer,” Rosvoglou tweeted, along with a highlight clip of Hill’s best plays that came against the Falcons in a Saints victory in Week 13 of the 2019 season. The clip showed Hill racking up two rushing touchdowns, as well as blocking a punt.
However, Hill’s days in the NFL are not done. “Taysom Hill says goodbye to New Orleans, but not necessarily the NFL,”said Jonathan Jones on X, Senior NFL Writer for The Athletic.
In terms of where Hill could go next, the Denver Broncos look like the most viable option. Head coach Sean Payton helped Hill break out onto the scene, so Hill could reunite with him in Denver as he embarks on the next chapter of his career.

The Broncos’ offense had the 16th most rushing yards last year, which is the middle of the league. Hill could add a rushing element but also a unique piece to help Denver overall.
After all, the Broncos were one game away from the Super Bowl last year.
