Bayron Matos' tenure with the Colts
The Colts signed Matos to the practice squad in October of last season. He originally went undrafted in 2024 out of South Florida and signed with the Miami Dolphins.
Recapping Bayron Matos' 2025 season
Once joining the Colts, he remained on the practice squad. Matos did not appear in a regular season game.
Matos is still a relatively inexperienced player. He played college basketball before walking on at South Florida in 2022. According to PFF, he played 11 snaps that year as a defensive lineman. Development is still likely needed.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Bayron Matos
Given Matos' inexperience, making the 53-man roster seems like a long shot. Matos, along with Luke Tenuta, Blake Freeland, and Nolan Rucci, are likely battling for two to three roster spots as backup options at tackle.
That said, ESPN's Stephen Holder had Matos on his latest 53-man roster prediction.
