Lakers rookie Cameron Carr will miss Saturday's summer league game

The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have a steal in rookie guard Cameron Carr. The 6-foot-5 athletic freak and 3-point laser was the No. 24 pick in last month's NBA draft by the New York Knicks, and the Lakers acquired him during the first day of the draft by sending the rights to their No. 25 pick, Sergio De Larrea, to New York.
Carr has looked impressive so far during the California Classic and L.A.'s first game of the main summer league. But he will not take the court on Saturday versus the Dallas Mavericks because of a thumb injury, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

"Lakers rookie Cameron Carr (right thumb contusion) will not play tonight vs. DAL, according to the team," McMenamin wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Carr scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting while also making some nice defensive plays on the ball during Friday's 96-84 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists a game while shooting 49.4% from the field and 37.4% from 3-point range last season while at Baylor University.
The Lakers' next summer league game will be on Tuesday versus the Los Angeles Clippers.
