Braylon Mullins of UConn viewed as likely lottery pick in 2027 NBA mock draft
· Yahoo Sports
Had Braylon Mullins stayed in the 2026 NBA Draft, he likely would have been selected in the first round. The 2025 Mr. Basketball from Greenfield-Central High School averaged 12.0 points as a Connecticut freshman.
He sent the Huskies to the Final Four by hitting a long 3-pointer in the closing seconds to complete a double-digit comeback win over Duke. UConn lost the national championship game to Michigan in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Mullins should become a bigger part of the Huskies' attack in 2026-27, considering the loss of Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed Jr. to the NBA.
Here's where the way-too-early mocks drafts place Mullins next summer.
2027 NBA mock draft: Way-too-early projections for Braylon Mullins
Jeremy Woo, ESPN: 6th, to the Milwaukee Bucks
"Mullins didn't quite have the freshman season he wanted at UConn — he averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game — but his NCAA tournament heroics gave him renewed momentum going into an important summer. NBA teams think he's capable of a breakout season and should improve on last season's 42% from the field and 33% from 3, stepping into a more focal role on a team that uses shooters well. He would have been a first-round pick had he stayed in the 2026 draft.
"To hear his name called in the top 10, Mullins has to take a step forward as an all-around offensive player. Teams like his makeup, size and skill set, but he will need to prove he's more than just a shooting specialist to justify being placed this high on the board. He has shown major shotmaking prowess in various settings over the years, and he has a good opportunity to put it all together."
Jonathan Wasserman, Bleacher Report: 4th, to the Chicago Bulls
"The historic shot he hit to beat Duke in the NCAA tournament highlighted his signature shooting range and shotmaking confidence. He was one of the most potent off-ball scoring freshmen, but he also possesses functional athletic ability for finishing and defending.
"He should have a chance to be used in more ball-screen situations and expand his self-creation as a sophomore."
Sam Vecenie, The Athletic: 5th
"This year’s most surprising player to turn down the NBA, Mullins will enter the 2026-27 season with a bevy of expectations after drilling the shot to take UConn to the Final Four and averaging 12 points per game. Mullins is a big-time shooter who got cold for too many stretches last season, making only 33.5% of his 3s. But NBA teams still believe in Mullins as a big-time potential floor-spacer who could bring more than that to the equation — and you can see that touch displayed in his 89% mark from the foul line. He flies off actions and fires with a quick release.
"Teams want to see him fill out his frame, get stronger and be more physical on defense. He has good hands but struggled to hold his line on the ball at times last season."
Adam Finkelstein, CBS Sports: 4th, to the Chicago Bulls
"If he makes the type of jump we're expecting, Mullins could be UConn's latest lottery pick. A knockdown shooter and underrated defender who appears to have grown a bit since high school, Mullins will benefit from added muscle mass."
