Sir David Beckham receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Football great Sir David Beckham has become the first soccer player to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Beckham received the 2,849th star, which is in the category of Sports Entertainment.

Beckham’s career started at Manchester United and included clubs such as Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain. He has also played for the England National Team.
Beyond the pitch, he has become a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and co-owner of Inter Miami CF, helping grow the sport’s popularity around the world.
The ceremony was emceed by Ellen K, with tributes from guest speakers, Victoria Beckham and Tom Cruise.
“I’m here today as we prepare to celebrate the opening, here in the US, of the 2026 World Cup. It’s a powerful moment to recognise how the sport I love so much has grown in this country over the past three decades. Kids – I’m going to get emotional now – Kids, I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big to make you all proud is my greatest achievement. I am so grateful for you all. I love you, and thank you so much for this honour, LA, it means the world to me. Thank you very much,” Beckham said.
