Golden Tempo rushed from behind and completed the 1 1/4 mile run in just under 2:02.07 to become the 152nd winner.
“I don’t really look at it as male versus female,” DeVaux told LEX18. “I just try to do the best I can, but in the back of my mind, just to be a strong role model.”
She said going into the race it was her biggest goal in life to win the Kentucky Derby. Today she accomplished just that.
