One of the 10 finalists is Reese Alston, a junior guard at Second Baptist High School and the son of former Rockets guard Rafer Alston.
When you flip on the tape of Second Baptist junior Reece Alston, it doesn't take long before you see he can do it all.
ABC13 sports producer Joe Gleason asked," So how far do you want to take basketball?"
"I definitely want to go to the NBA and be a successful NBA player," Reese said.
"I feel like it's just fun to play," he added. "I like the bonds you could build with friends and teammates. Most of my friends right now are on my basketball team. So I feel like just that aspect is what makes it fun."
Alston is a five-star guard with 33 offers. He says his style on the floor is whatever it takes to win.
"I just like to win, he said. "So whatever it takes that day. I'll do whatever, scoring, defense, passing."
For his style off the floor, Reese met with Jordan Lewis of the non-profit Suits-N-Sports to help pick out an outfit for the award.
"I'll pull a few concepts, and I'll lay them out, and then we'll see some things, and then we'll go from there," Lewis said.
Lewis has an eye for style and detail. He has helped outfit several other Lewis award finalists.
"A lot of these young guys, they've never had a chance to dress like this," Lewis said. "He's a slim fit for sure."
The Lewis Award will be handed out on April 1st, where no doubt Reece will look as elite as his game is on the court.
