The Alabama guard was granted a motion to travel outside the state by a Tuscaloosa district judge following his March 16 felony arrest for possession of marijuana. However, even with Holloway now being permitted to travel with the team, there are several reasons to believe that Holloway will not suit up for the Crimson Tide in their Sweet 16 showdown against Michigan in Chicago.
In a statement given to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, Alabama said that "nothing had changed" with regard to Holloway's status with the team. He did not travel with the Crimson Tide to Chicago for the Sweet 16.

"Nothing has changed with regard to Aden's status with the team."
The Crimson Tide face Michigan tonight in the Sweet 16.
There's also the fact that Holloway was listed as "out" on the NCAA availability report ahead of the game, which could create problems if the Crimson Tide attempted to play him against the Wolverines. Even if he ultimately makes the trip on Friday, it seems unlikely he will suit up.
However, it is possible he could attend the game as a fan. Whether Holloway would play in Sunday's Elite Eight matchup in the event of a Crimson Tide win remains to be seen.
Holloway is a major contributor to Alabama's backcourt, averaging 16.8 points per game. However, the Tide's group of guards, led by Labaron Philon Jr. and Latrell Wrightsell, remains potent even without him.
