This year's event, "Skate into the Dreamhouse," will feature 120 skaters, ranging in age from 3 to 18, said Kristen Carlson, East Grand Forks.
The skaters will range from beginners to high school seniors who are presenting their last routines, Carlson said. It's not a competition, but rather an end-of-year ice show.
"It is inspired by all the amazing things Barbie and Ken can be — from dreamers and leaders to athletes, artists and everything in between," she said. "As our skaters glide through the Dreamhouse, they'll celebrate imagination, confidence and the idea that you can be anything when you believe in yourself."
The skaters will take to the ice "in a colorful, high-energy production inspired by imagination, teamwork and the fun of skating, highlighting skills from beginning skating through advanced levels of skating," Carlson said.
The show will feature 37 routines, performed individually and in groups.
The annual ice show is a longstanding community tradition "that celebrates the hard work and dedication of local skaters while providing family-friendly entertainment for all ages," Carlson said.
Everyone is invited to attend and support these athletes, she said, "and enjoy an afternoon of skating, music and creativity."
Tickets, available at the door, are $6 for adults and $4 for K-12 students; admission is free for children under the age of 5. A weekend pass is $10 for adults.
