Basharat, 30, defeated Gianni Vazquez, who took the fight on short notice and missed weight, in a unanimous decision on the prelims of UFC Fight Night 266 on Feb. 7 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

"My chapter with the UFC has come to a close," Basharat wrote on Instagram. "I leave with my head high, my standards intact, and confidence in who I am as a fighter, which is definitely amongst the best . I showed up through every circumstance, I carry myself with professionalism, discipline, and respect. That won’t change.

Alhamdulillah in any case ☝🏼Thank you to everyone who stands with me — I truly appreciate the support 👊🏻🫂"

The win at UFC Fight Night 266 snapped a two-fight losing skid for Basharat, who had lost to ranked contender Aiemann Zahabi and former ranked veteran Ricky Simon. Prior to the pair of defeats, he was on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC. Basharat joined the UFC though Dana White's Contender Series in 2021. He has a younger brother, Farid Basharat, who's currently undefeated and competing in the UFC's bantamweight division.
